Tropical times ahead! We’re clearly still not over flamingos or pineapples, and these cute paper plates by Meri Meri have helped us merge the two into one for a summer party your guests won’t forget! When your backyard does the work for you, it doesn’t take much to set the scene, but our little leaf banner is the easiest DIY of paper plates that are way too cute to ever eat off of taped onto baker’s twine! So easy and helps to bring those tropical, summery vibes! Besides the cute paper goods, the talk of he table is another easy DIY—this flamingo cake!!! Target Dollar Spot has had these plastic flamingos around the past couple of years and I have stocked up every time. They’re so cute!!! All you have to do is frost your cake with a grass tip (Wilton 233) and exchange the wire legs for food-safe bamboo skewers which you can cut to any length. It definitely is a show-stopping centerpiece! Enjoy looking through all the details of this pineapples & pink flamingos party and be sure to tag me if you create a plastic flamingo cake of your own—I’d love to see it!
Ah, Cinco de Mayo, the party that unlocks the door of all summer parties to come! It’s finally time for bright colors, cool drinks, pool days, and partying until long after the sun has gone down. This year’s Cinco de Mayo fiesta features THE CUTEST piñata plates, pom poms in place of confetti, and a whole slew of patterns and colors! Scroll on for more details so you can throw a fiesta of your own!
Lay your straw across the top of your glassware for a different look. And pom poms are basically confetti that give your table a little more dimension!
Are these not the cutest?! I got them at a local party supply store but I’ve seen them floating around Etsy!
Mini sombreros all around!
What food should we serve? I love a good taco bar, but I feel they’re so overdone! What are you serving up this Cinco de Mayo? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for visiting and happy fiesta-ing!
Help your friends quench their thirst this summer and make their day by giving them an emergency thirst aid kit!
You just need a few things to get started: personal Simply Lemonade bottles, trial size Torani syrups (I got mine at World Market), a fun straw, baker's twine or string, craft glue dots, and my printables found below!
These thirst aid kits are the best combination of simple and so so cute! The syrups and printables are easily attached with glue dots. I would recommend printing them on photo paper and leaving the lemonades out long enough that they no longer sweat. Be sure to tag me in your thirst aid kits @DesignOrganizeParty - I can't wait to see them!
One of the best weekends of the year is upon us--Memorial Day Weekend--the unofficial start of summer! And even if you're not one for real camping (me!), you can still have the fun of being outdoors with all the comforts of home by throwing a backyard campout!
Have you been to Bullseye's Playground/Target Dollar Spot lately? Once again, they're rocking summertime. Target's newest selection includes camping-themed goodies like this plush faux fire, a canvas rug turned sign, and these oh-so-cute vintage lantern string lights.
I am OBSESSED with these tiny milk jugs from Hobby Lobby--they're perfect in every way!
If you're making a sheet tent and you're adult-sized, it's only big enough for two so be sure to invite someone worth cozying up with! (Dogs makes great people substitutes in this case:)
Enjoy your long weekend, spend as much time outside as possible, snap a few Instagram-able moments before putting the phone down , and make memories worth remembering. I'd love to hear your plans for this weekend--drop them in a comment below and thanks for reading!
